Mercedes-Benz is recalling over 24,000 vehicles from 2018 to 2020 due to a defective drive shaft universal joint that may unexpectedly break, potentially causing a loss of power and increasing crash risk. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reported that all recalled vehicles could be affected. Dealers will inspect the joint, and owners will be notified by June 2, 2026. This recall highlights ongoing safety concerns in the auto industry, following a recent large recall by Ford for windshield wiper failures.
