Lucid Group reported a 42% drop in EV sales in Q1 2026, selling 3,093 vehicles compared to the previous quarter, mainly due to a supplier quality issue with second-row seats in the Lucid Gravity SUV. This problem caused a 29-day delivery disruption and a recall of over 4,000 vehicles. Despite the sales dip, Lucid insists demand remains strong and has addressed the issue, reaffirming its 2026 production target of 25,000 to 27,000 vehicles. The company is also preparing to launch a more affordable EV model priced around $50,000 to compete with Tesla and Rivian.
