Lightpath launches new 392-mile fiber route linking Columbus and Chicago data centers.

Lightpath has secured a contract to build a new 392-mile underground fiber network connecting Columbus, Ohio, and Chicago, Illinois, two rapidly growing data center markets. This marks Lightpath's first long-haul route built organically, expected to be completed by the end of 2028 in phases. The route will support high-capacity connectivity and include eight LightCube Data Centers, enhancing services for hyperscale, carrier, and enterprise customers. This expansion strengthens Lightpath's position in key U.S. markets and supports growing demand for AI and cloud infrastructure.
