Kura Oncology and Kyowa Kirin published positive Phase 1a/b trial results for ziftomenib combined with venetoclax and azacitidine in relapsed/refractory NPM1-mutated acute myeloid leukemia (AML). The combination achieved high response rates, especially in venetoclax-naïve patients, with 87% objective response and 70% composite complete remission, alongside deep molecular responses and durable remissions. The treatment was generally well tolerated with manageable side effects, supporting further clinical evaluation. This advances potential new therapy options for a patient group with limited effective treatments.
