BRIGHT at the Technical University of Denmark and LanzaTech have formed a multi-year partnership to develop a next-generation C1 biofoundry that converts industrial carbon emissions into sustainable fuels, chemicals, and materials. This collaboration, running until 2028, aims to advance carbon-to-value biotechnology using gas fermentation and synthetic biology, accelerating Europe's role in the circular bioeconomy. The biofoundry will enable faster microbial strain development, integrate AI-driven design, and support safe research on challenging microbes, fostering innovation in climate-positive solutions.
