Consumer complaints about Canadian telecom and TV services surged 61% from August 2025 to January 2026, driven largely by billing problems such as incorrect charges and activation fees. Rogers/Shaw received the highest share of complaints, with five providers accounting for 79% of all cases. The Canadian Commission for Complaints for Telecom-Television Services (CPRST) resolved 88% of complaints successfully, highlighting ongoing consumer frustration with unexpected fees and contract issues. New CRTC rules eliminating certain fees will take effect in June 2026, potentially easing some billing disputes going forward.
