The National Forest Foundation (NFF) and Xcel Energy have launched a partnership to reduce wildfire risks in Colorado through targeted fuels reduction and forest restoration. This collaboration aims to protect communities, watersheds, and critical energy infrastructure from increasing wildfire threats by managing high-risk forest areas near populated and infrastructure-sensitive zones. Initial projects include the Rampart Range Road Fuel Break near Colorado Springs and the Clear Creek Reservoir Hazardous Fuels Project in Chaffee County, focusing on strategic tree removal and fuel reduction. This effort supports long-term wildfire resilience and safer forests in the state.
