Consumer complaints about telecom and TV services in Canada rose 61% from August 2025 to January 2026, driven mainly by billing and contract issues. The Commission for Complaints for Telecom-television Services (CCTS) handled over 19,000 complaints, with wireless services accounting for 56% of concerns. Rogers/Shaw received the most complaints, followed by TELUS, Bell, Fido, and Koodo. The report highlights rising frustration over unexpected charges, activation fees, and unclear billing, prompting regulatory changes effective June 2026 to remove some fees. The CCTS continues to offer free, independent dispute resolution for consumers.
