The Flight III Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer Ted Stevens (DDG 128) has left HII’s Ingalls Shipbuilding in Mississippi, heading to its homeport in Norfolk, Virginia before commissioning in Whittier, Alaska. This ship is the second Flight III destroyer built by Ingalls, featuring advanced radar and combat systems to enhance U.S. naval capabilities. Ingalls is currently building five more Flight III destroyers and planning several others, expanding production through partnerships to meet Navy demand. This milestone highlights ongoing efforts to strengthen U.S. maritime security with next-generation surface combatants.
