JetBlue wins Spirit Airlines' LaGuardia slots, plans Terminal A move by 2027

JetBlue has secured Spirit Airlines' takeoff and landing slots at New York's LaGuardia Airport and plans to return to Terminal A, Spirit's former base, by 2027. This move follows Spirit's shutdown in May after failing to get a $500 million bailout and marks a significant expansion for JetBlue at a crowded airport. The 12 roundtrip slots await final court and regulatory approval. JetBlue is also restructuring operations to support growth, while Spirit's assets are being handled through bankruptcy proceedings after years of losses and operational struggles amid rising fuel costs.
