BMO has committed $500,000 over five years to the National Music Centre's Music Therapy Initiative, with matching funds from The Jim Pattison Foundation. This investment will expand music therapy programs in hospitals and community health settings across Canada, benefiting patients from neonatal to palliative care. The initiative aims to improve patient wellbeing by reducing anxiety and supporting recovery, reaching underserved regions nationwide. The program has already shown success in Alberta and is expanding to provinces including Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and British Columbia, with plans to become a national program.
