Instructure, the company behind the Canvas learning platform used by millions worldwide, reached an agreement with the hacking group ShinyHunters to recover stolen data and ensure its destruction. The hackers had accessed data from over 275 million users across nearly 9,000 schools, including personal and private communications. Canvas was temporarily shut down following the attack, but Instructure confirmed no customers would face extortion. The company has involved law enforcement and is working to restore trust, though details of the deal remain undisclosed.
