Deep Isolation confirms deep borehole disposal as safe for advanced nuclear fuel waste

Deep Isolation has validated that deep borehole disposal technology is a safe and effective method for permanently isolating high-level radioactive waste from advanced nuclear fuel recycling. Their study, conducted under the ARPA-E ONWARDS project with Oklo Inc., showed that waste treated by electrorefining meets stringent safety standards when stored in deep boreholes in shale and granite.
