HyOrc Corporation announced a validated preliminary cost estimate for producing methanol from waste at about €350–€370 per tonne using Refuse-Derived Fuel (RDF). This cost is competitive against current European methanol prices, supported by tipping fees from municipal waste. The company is progressing with commercial projects in Portugal and Bulgaria, aiming to combine waste management with low-carbon fuel production. These efforts position HyOrc to compete in conventional and premium low-carbon fuel markets, pending final engineering and financing details.
