Hydrogen Utopia International PLC is launching Project Fortress Fuel, a system designed to convert domestic waste plastic and old tires into JP-8 military aviation fuel and baseload electricity. This initiative aims to reduce military dependence on vulnerable long-distance fuel supply chains that face geopolitical risks. A typical facility could produce up to 28,000 tonnes of JP-8 fuel annually and maintain a year’s supply of plastic feedstock for continuous operation. The technology, based on plasma gasification, can also generate diesel and electricity during outages, supporting critical military infrastructure. The UK is the initial target market, with plans to expand to Saudi Arabia and nearby regions. Following the announcement, Hydrogen Utopia's shares rose 18% to 3.2p in London trading.
