Honeywell announced its modular Ecofining process technology and integrated automation will support Acelen Renewables' new refinery in Bahia, Brazil, designed to produce sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and renewable diesel from macaúba oil, a native Brazilian feedstock. This project aims to meet rising SAF demand, which is expected to reach 500,000 barrels per day in the next decade, by enabling faster, cost-effective production with lower emissions. Honeywell's technology can reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to 80% when blended with conventional jet fuel, supporting global efforts for cleaner fuels. The refinery is expected to be one of the largest globally and will promote economic, social, and environmental sustainability in Brazil.
