HIVE invests $3.1M to upgrade fibre network for Tier III AI data center in New Brunswick.

HIVE Digital Technologies, via its subsidiary BUZZ, is investing approximately $3.1 million over five years to upgrade the fibre optic network at its Grand Falls Data Centre in New Brunswick. This upgrade is a key step in transforming the site into a Tier III high-performance computing (HPC) data center focused on AI workloads, with 50 MW capacity and advanced GPU infrastructure. The project supports Canada's goal of building sovereign AI infrastructure with secure, high-capacity connectivity, partnering with Canada's largest carrier for multiple 100 Gbps and 400 Gbps connections, expected to start delivery in Q3 2026. This development aligns with HIVE's broader strategy to expand its GPU AI cloud and HPC colocation services, leveraging renewable energy and advanced technology to serve enterprise and government AI customers.
