Google DeepMind has introduced AI Pointer, a new cursor technology that understands on-screen content contextually without requiring users to manually input commands. This innovation allows users to interact naturally with digital content, such as pointing at data to create charts or asking questions directly on webpages, streamlining workflows. AI Pointer is already integrated into Google AI Studio and products like Gemini in Chrome and the upcoming Googlebook laptop's Magic Pointer. While still experimental and somewhat limited in speed, Google plans to expand its capabilities, aiming to embed AI more deeply into everyday work tools, especially for enterprise users through Chrome Enterprise and Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform.
