Gilead Sciences and Lakefront Biotherapeutics have finalized the $1.675 billion acquisition of Ouro Medicines, adding the clinical-stage drug gamgertamig to their inflammation portfolio. Gamgertamig targets autoimmune diseases like AIHA and ITP and has FDA Fast Track and Orphan Drug status, with registrational studies expected by 2027. Lakefront will lead early clinical trials while Gilead handles later stages and global commercialization, sharing milestone payments and royalties. This deal strengthens both companies' positions in developing innovative autoimmune therapies and supports Lakefront's R&D pipeline with significant cash reserves for future investments.
