Georgia Power has finalized contracts for over 110 megawatts of new distributed solar generation, the largest in its history, to meet rising electricity demand in Georgia. This expansion follows approval from the Georgia Public Service Commission and is part of the 2024 distributed generation program originally proposed in the 2022 Integrated Resource Plan. The company plans to add another 100+ MW of solar by 2028 through future requests for proposals, supporting clean energy growth while maintaining reliability and affordability for customers. Georgia Power aims to reach 10,000 MW of renewable resources by 2032, continuing its leadership in solar development and offering programs for residential and business customers to access solar energy.
