Georgia Power has introduced the Clean and Renewable Energy Subscription Customer Identified Resource (CARES CIR) program, enabling commercial and industrial customers to identify and subscribe to renewable energy projects that align with their sustainability goals. Approved for up to 3,000 MW of new renewable projects, the program expands access to clean energy by allowing customers to bring forward preferred projects, which Georgia Power then procures through long-term power purchase agreements. This initiative builds on Georgia Power's existing CARES program, which has procured over 2,200 MW of solar power in recent years, and aims to increase renewable energy adoption while maintaining value and reliability for all customers. The program includes options for both large utility-scale and smaller distributed generation projects, with application windows opening in late 2026.
