Galapagos NV has entered a binding agreement with Gilead Sciences following Gilead's acquisition of Ouro Medicines, focusing on developing gamgertamig (OM336), a novel T cell engager for autoimmune diseases like AIHA and ITP. Gamgertamig has shown strong early clinical results and holds Fast Track and Orphan Drug status from the FDA, with registrational studies expected in 2027. The deal allows Galapagos to retain significant cash for future opportunities, share development costs, and receive royalties from sales, while Gilead will handle global commercialization. This collaboration aims to create a first-in-class treatment with potential for durable remission in severe autoimmune conditions.
