Ford has announced a recall of 255,404 Ford Focus vehicles from model years 2012 to 2018 due to a potential engine stall issue caused by a malfunctioning canister purge valve (CPV). The problem stems from a prior recall where the correct software fix may not have been installed, causing the CPV to stick open and potentially deform the fuel tank. Affected vehicles may show warning lights, inaccurate fuel gauges, or drivability problems. Ford will update the powertrain control module software free of charge and reimburse owners who previously paid for repairs. No accidents or injuries have been reported related to this issue.
