Ford's head of EVs and software Doug Field is leaving amid company restructuring.

Doug Field, Ford's chief of electric vehicles, digital, and design, is leaving the company after a transition period of about a month. His departure coincides with Ford's restructuring, which merges his responsibilities into a new Product Creation and Industrialization unit led by COO Kumar Galhotra. This move aims to help Ford meet goals like an 8% adjusted EBIT margin by 2029 and accelerate the rollout of new EV models and software innovations. Ford plans to refresh most of its vehicle lineup with electrified powertrains and advanced digital features by 2029, targeting significant growth in EV offerings and autonomous driving capabilities.
