FMC Corporation has submitted the first global regulatory dossier for rimisoxafen, a new herbicide with a dual mode of action, to the US Environmental Protection Agency. This herbicide targets key crops like corn, soybean, sunflower, and pulses, aiming to combat increasing weed resistance, especially from Palmer amaranth and waterhemp. Rimisoxafen is notable for inhibiting two biochemical pathways in weeds, which helps delay resistance development. FMC plans to seek approvals in other regions and crop segments, marking a significant step in their innovation pipeline for next-generation crop protection solutions.
