EthGas has developed a 50-millisecond sub-block design to accelerate Ethereum's execution layer, aiming to make the network feel up to 100 times faster by breaking Ethereum's 12-second block time into smaller units. This innovation targets improved transaction responsiveness and the creation of a financialized, tradable blockspace market, potentially reducing reliance on Layer 2 solutions and keeping more activity on Ethereum's mainnet. The project has onboarded about 5% of Ethereum infrastructure and launched its Realtime Blocks initiative in late 2025. Going forward, EthGas plans to expand adoption, prove real-world usage of blockspace trading, and deepen institutional outreach, especially in South Korea, while maintaining Ethereum's core security and trust properties.
