Two new ETFs from Roundhill Investments, XDTE and QDTE, sell zero-days-to-expiration (0DTE) call options daily to generate high weekly income for investors. These ETFs provide synthetic overnight exposure to the S&P 500 and Innovation-100 indexes, harvesting option premiums through rapid time decay. While they offer eye-catching yields of 25.69% and 40.27%, much of the distributions are return of capital, which is not immediately taxable but reduces cost basis. These funds charge a 0.97% fee and may lag traditional index ETFs in total returns, but they offer a practical, lower-risk way for investors to access 0DTE option strategies without managing daily trades themselves.
