Disney is set to cut up to 1,000 jobs, mainly in its marketing division, as part of ongoing restructuring due to falling box office revenue and rising streaming competition. These layoffs are among the first major moves under new CEO Josh D’Amaro, although they were planned before his tenure began. Since 2022, Disney has already cut over 8,000 jobs following a broad restructuring initiated by former CEO Bob Iger. The company employed 231,000 people at the end of fiscal 2025, with most working in its experiences division, including theme parks and consumer products.
