Disney's CFO Hugh Johnston revealed that the company is not currently negotiating a renewal of its NFL rights deal, which lasts until 2031. The NFL plans to opt out of current rights deals by 2033-34 and is seeking higher fees from other media partners like Paramount and Fox. Disney, having recently acquired NFL Network and RedZone, remains confident in its broad NFL coverage and is open to future discussions but will evaluate any deal carefully to ensure shareholder value. Disney will also broadcast the Super Bowl next February, marking its first time hosting the event since 2006.
