The US trade deficit increased to $60.3 billion in March, up 4.4% from February, following the Supreme Court ruling that struck down President Trump's global tariffs. Exports rose 2% to $320.9 billion, while imports grew 2.3% to $381.2 billion, widening the trade gap. The ruling forced the administration to replace the previous tariffs with a flat 10% tariff under a different legal authority, which will expire in July unless renewed by Congress. The administration is also investigating new tariffs targeting unfair trade practices and forced labor imports as it seeks to address persistent trade deficits with major partners.
