Deep Isolation has appointed Jon Tedrick, a drilling veteran with over 28 years of experience, to lead its full-scale deep borehole nuclear waste disposal demonstration at the Deep Borehole Demonstration Center in Texas. This project aims to validate the company's technology using standard oil and gas drilling methods and its Universal Canister System for safe nuclear waste storage and retrieval. Supported by a $20 million grant from the U.S. Department of Energy's ARPA-E SCALEUP Ready program, the demonstration is a key step toward commercializing a scalable solution for managing advanced nuclear waste. Tedrick's relocation to Texas strengthens on-site coordination as the company moves closer to active operations with major industry partners involved.
