New clinical trials show Boston Scientific's heart devices are safe and effective for treating atrial fibrillation.

Boston Scientific presented positive clinical trial data for its FARAPULSE™ Pulsed Field Ablation (PFA) platform and WATCHMAN™ Left Atrial Appendage Closure (LAAC) devices at Heart Rhythm 2026. The AVANT GUARD trial demonstrated FARAPULSE's superiority over anti-arrhythmic drugs in treating persistent atrial fibrillation, with higher effectiveness and safety. Additional studies showed improved ablation durability with the FARAFLEX™ catheter and successful combined use of PFA and LAAC devices. Long-term data also supported WATCHMAN's stroke prevention benefits in patients unsuitable for anticoagulants.
