The Danaher Foundation has committed $1 million to support urgent response efforts against the Ebola Bundibugyo outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda. Funds will be allocated to Save the Children, the International Rescue Committee, and the World Food Program USA to provide infection prevention, hygiene, health services, and emergency food aid. This support is critical as the outbreak, declared a Public Health Emergency by WHO, has confirmed over 1,000 cases and is spreading, with children under 14 especially vulnerable. The funding aims to enable rapid, flexible actions to contain the outbreak and address the worsening humanitarian crisis in the region.
