Canadian National Railway (CN) moved over 2.96 million metric tonnes of grain from Western Canada in March 2026, setting a new monthly record and achieving its highest first-quarter grain movement to date. Weekly grain volumes surpassed 600,000 tonnes for two consecutive weeks, peaking above 650,000 tonnes, driven by strong demand and efficient network recovery after weather disruptions. The reopening of the Port of Thunder Bay and robust export demand contributed to this performance. CN continues to focus on its winter operations plan to maintain network efficiency.
