Close Brothers Group PLC announced it expects to surpass its £25 million annualised cost savings target by the end of the 2026 financial year due to accelerated restructuring efforts, including outsourcing and management simplification. The lender's adjusted operating expenses are now forecasted to be below the previous guidance of around £450 million. Despite a 1.5% share price drop, the group reported resilient lending with a 1% increase in its loan book to £9.3 billion, stable bad debts, and a strong capital position. CEO Mike Morgan described the results as a solid performance during an important transitional year.
