Bitdeer Technologies Group has begun construction on a $155 million integrated energy and computing facility in Fox Creek, Alberta, featuring a 101 MW natural gas power plant and about 100 MW of computing capacity. This facility will power Bitcoin mining and is designed to support future AI workloads, with energization expected by Q2 2027. The project aims to boost the local economy with 300 construction jobs and 30 permanent roles, emphasizing local hiring and sustainable energy use by generating power on-site. Alberta's government supports this investment as part of its strategy to grow AI and digital infrastructure in the region.
