The Baxter Foundation has partnered with Pet Partners to launch a two-year pilot program expanding therapy animal visits in U.S. healthcare settings, aiming to reach 100,000 patients and healthcare workers. This initiative addresses stress and emotional challenges faced by patients and staff by providing comfort through animal interactions, which research shows can reduce pain, anxiety, and depression. The program will enhance volunteer training, safety protocols, and conduct research on therapy animals' impact on healthcare professionals. Baxter employees will also be engaged in volunteering and well-being activities as part of this effort.
