AmiGo, an autonomous mobility service by Baidu's Apollo Go and Swiss Post's PostBus, received a special permit from Switzerland's Federal Roads Office for Level 4 autonomous operations in Eastern Switzerland. The service began open-road trials on June 1, 2026, covering about 80 km² across three cantons, aiming to launch fully driverless public transport rides in early 2027. This marks a major step in integrating autonomous vehicles into Swiss public transport, with AmiGo expected to be Europe's largest automated public transit operation. The electric, on-demand service is bookable via the AmiGo app and highlights Baidu's global leadership in autonomous driving technology.
