Autodesk has donated $1.95 million to Howard University to support the development of a new construction engineering and management program within its College of Engineering and Architecture. This investment coincides with the opening of a new AI-powered makerspace, designed to give students hands-on experience with advanced design and digital fabrication tools. The program aims to address workforce shortages in the construction industry by equipping students with interdisciplinary skills in engineering, design, and digital construction. The makerspace also serves as a collaborative hub for students across multiple disciplines and supports STEM outreach to younger students, preparing graduates for future technology-driven jobs.
