Ascendis Pharma announced that children with achondroplasia treated with TransCon CNP showed ongoing improvements in lower leg alignment, specifically tibial-femoral angle, through 104 weeks in the pivotal ApproaCH trial. The treatment also maintained increased growth velocity and height scores, with greater benefits seen in children with preexisting leg bowing. TransCon CNP was well tolerated with mostly mild side effects and no serious complications. The drug, approved by the FDA as YUVIWEL, is under review in Europe, offering a promising pharmacological option to address skeletal complications in achondroplasia.
