Algorand's v5.0.0 upgrade has reached 90% node support and will activate soon after its cooldown period, marking the largest update since staking rewards launched. This upgrade introduces native Falcon-1024 post-quantum accounts, expanding quantum-resistant security directly into the protocol. It also enhances smart contracts with AVM v13, adding larger contract sizes, new opcodes, and cross-application data storage.
