Air France-KLM offers to buy up to 49.9% of TAP Air Portugal, aiming to boost Portugal's aviation sector.

Air France-KLM has submitted a binding offer to acquire up to 49.9% of TAP Air Portugal as part of the airline's privatization. The offer includes a strategic plan to strengthen TAP's operations across passenger transport, cargo, loyalty, and maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services, with a focus on creating skilled jobs and supporting Portugal's economic growth. The plan also involves expanding TAP's connectivity, especially on transatlantic routes, and integrating TAP into Air France-KLM's global network. Delta Air Lines, a joint venture partner, supports the bid and plans to enhance commercial cooperation with TAP. If successful, Lisbon would become Air France-KLM's southern European hub, reinforcing Portugal's role in global aviation.
