Aflac Re Bermuda inks reinsurance deal with Japan Post Insurance for whole life annuities.

Aflac Re Bermuda has agreed to reinsure a block of whole life annuities from Japan Post Insurance through coinsurance, effective March 31, 2026. Japan Post Insurance will continue managing the policies, while Aflac Re expands its reinsurance business beyond Aflac Life Insurance Japan. This deal strengthens the strategic partnership between Aflac and Japan Post Insurance, aiming to create value for policyholders and shareholders and potentially support other Japanese insurers in risk management and capital optimization.
