This task began with the opening of a network of overseas branches. In anticipating, the banking sector deregulation which began in June 1983 and was followed by the October 1988 deregulation package, Bank BNI completely restructured its business operations so as to become more adaptable and flexible in facing increased competition and market development at the time.
