In 2002, the Company acquired 141 minimarkets from PT Alfa Mitramart Utama to support activity in retail distribution. Then in the same year, the company changed brand name Alfa Minimart to Alfamart.

Starting out in 1949, GMF AeroAsia originated as the Technical Division of Garuda Indonesia Airlines at the Kemayoran and Halim Perdanakusuma airports in Jakarta, Indonesia.
