Prior to becoming a separate business entity, PT Indonesia Vehicle Terminal was only a strategic business unit called Tanjung Priok Car Terminal (TPT) under its Head Office and operated since June 2007.

PT Petrosea operates in engineering construction and contract mining services. The major shares were taken over by Clough Engineering Group of Australia in 1984.
