The company began its commercial operations in August 1972. Hero is Indonesia’s largest supermarket chain with a network of 66 supermarkets, consisting of 44 stores in Greater Jakarta and 22 stores in major regional cities. Supermarket operations account for about 90% of sales complemented by an array of retail formats including convenience stores, mini markets, and pharmacies. As the economy begins to gather strength, HERO has relatively aggressive expansion plans drawing upon its established brand, a reputation for fresh quality foods, friendly experienced staff, best service, a leading position in category and space management and efficient centralized distribution infrastructure. In 1998 the acquisition of a 32% effective interest in Hero by Dairy Farm International contributed significant international experience and expertise to the local knowledge and insight of Hero’s management as well as recognition of the potential of Indonesia as one of the most attractive growth markets in South East Asia over the medium long term.

PT. Bank Panin Syariah Tbk (the Bank") was established based on Deed No.12 dated January 8, 1972 of Indrawati Setiabudi, S.H., notary in Malang under the name of PT. Bank Pasar Bersaudara Jaya. The Deed of Establishment was approved by the minister of justice of the Republic of Indonesia through Decision Letter No.Y.A.5/284/4 dated December 11, 1979. Bassed on the Deed of Minutes of the General Meeting No.25 dated January 8, 1990 which was published in Supplement No. 3247/1994 of the State Gazette of the Republic of Indonesia No.47 dated June 14, 1994, the Bank's name was changed to PT. Bank Bersaudara Jaya. This change was approved by the Minister of justice of the Republic of Indonesia through Decision Letter No. C2-902.HT.0104.Th.90 dated February 21, 1990. Based on Amendement Deed No.27 dated March 27, 1997 of Alfian Yahya S.H, notary in Surabaya, the Bank's name was changed into PT. Bank Harfa. This change was approved by the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Indonesia through Decision Letter No. C2-4004.HT.01.04.Th.97 dated May 21, 1997. Based on Deed No.1 dated August 3, 2009 of Drs. Bambang Tedjo Anggono Budi S.H., M.Kn in lieu of Sutjipto S.H., M.Kn., notary in Jakarta, named of PT. Bank Harfa was changed to PT. Bank Panin Syariah. This change was approved by the Minister of Justice and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia through Decision Letter No. AHU-43152.AH.01.02.Tahun 2009 dated September 2, 2009.
