Starting out in 1949, GMF AeroAsia originated as the Technical Division of Garuda Indonesia Airlines at the Kemayoran and Halim Perdanakusuma airports in Jakarta, Indonesia. Igar Jaya was founded in October 1975 in the Republic of Indonesia as a joint venture with Owens-Illinois, a leading glass container manufacturer in the United States, initially in the production of glass vial and ampoules to support Indonesia’s pharmaceutical industry.
