PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (“BNI" or “Bank”) was originally established in Indonesia as the central bank under the name “Bank Negara Indonesia” based on Government Regulation in Lieu of Law No. 2 of 1946 dated 5 July 1946. On 25 November 1996, Bank BNI became the first publicly listed state owned bank when it listed its share on the Jakarta and Surabaya Stock Exchanges.
